I love being creative! It really is that simple, I crave it in fact. This brings me to my next point. I literally use everything I have and even left-overs. Some people think I am crazy but it is true. I try not to hoard things anymore, but if I don’t use them within a certain time frame I will chuck them, but for most of the time I actually use them.
Now if you spotted a certain die-cut heart on a double page layout I made using Lady Pattern Paper papers, then you will know where the cut out heart comes from on this journaling page.
I have a few of these on my desk and simply had to use them. I also had a demo sheet of watercolour paper on my desk [there are a lot of things on my desk I know] and the 2 just had to come together.
I started off by adding some texture paste through 2 different stencils on a sheet of watercolour paper.
Once dry I added acrylic paint in bright pink and then added turquoise over the pink to form a nice navy blue kind of colour.
Once the paint was dry I added my hearts.
Use your die-cut heart from the Egyptian Gold Sweetheart paper together with some gold ink and a sponge dauber.
Ink the inside of the cut out heart using your sponge dauber.
Cover a chipboard heart with the Dazzling blue script paper.
Adhere the cut out heart to your watercolour paper and add machine sewing to it. Adhere the chipboard heart and add a layer of dimensional glaze to is. Leave to dry.
Use black ink and drip some ink onto the page. Mist with water and let the ink run over the page and onto the sides of the heart.
You can see how the black ink ran onto the paper to add a really interesting effect on the edges.
Finish off your page with white ink splatters, inking and stamped words in black to tie things together.
