The Joy layout was inspired by a sketch and colour online challenge. The colours of the Good Times and Tan Lines were just perfect for this as it called for the teal, green, buff, black and white. The sketch took me a bit out of my comfort zone and I did some mixed media on the background paper.

I chose the Basically Textured Fency – So Buff with its wood grain effect for my background. I cut the paper slightly smaller and mounted it on white cardstock. I then applied some texture paste to the background in a diamond shape.

My paper layers were made up of Good Times and Tan Lines Little Bikini (teal side) and the Lime Times (both sides). I matted all my layers on hello CARDS cardmaking paper. I cut the different patterns of the hello CARDS Green Chartreuse and Intense Teal into 6×6 papers to use for matting.

I stitched around each of the paper layers for added texture…although I think that this page is not lacking in texture :) I used a ringlets die to cut out the rings from one of the hello CARDS Intense Teal paper and layered it behind my main photo.

I framed my main photo with a chipboard circle that was heat embossed and then layered my papers and photos in the centre of the background.

The embellishments used are chipboard shells, heat embossed chipboard shapes and sequins.
