With the new release of Lady Pattern Paper there are so many wonderful surprises in terms of designs and colours, that one can’t help it but make a little surprise project using them. For today, I created this little booklet on top of a card where you can easily tuck away some surprise spending money in a pocket or write a little extra message inside for the recipient…a fun little extra element.

Here’s how I created my folded card…

Step 1

Cut 5cm (2”) wide strips from your Basic Essentials paper range. You can use several shorter strips of a few designs or keep to a single design.

Step 2

Use a scoring board and score lines at every 2” mark.

Step 3

Fold the paper strips on the scored lines by creating valley and mountain folds.

Step 4

Then fold your booklet into a stacked square and fold some bakers twine around it and make a bow.

Step 5

Create your card and then adhere the secret folded booklet to the centre front of your card. Add messages and additional decorative elements inside. Add a flower embellishment to the outside to dress it up.

And there you have a beautiful little secret booklet on top of a card using some gorgeous papers. I love how the tiny floral design plays off against the larger flowers and colours.

I have really been inspired by this range of black and white…a truly versatile range perfect for the biggest and the smallest of projects.
