‘What a refreshing collection‘, was my first reaction when I opened this gorgeous pack! Lady Pattern Paper Sun O’Clock is really one of my favourite summer-time collections to emerge in a long time. There is so much variety – it is not limited to beach-only memories – but can be used for a huge variety of South African summer-time moments!
I do live at the coast, so of course I wanted to scrap a random walk on the beach from about 2 years ago. Marius and I went for breakfast on the beach and then took a leisurely morning stroll with the dogs. Some fresh shells were washed up and Marius took a couple of photos, including the “selfie” of us with his phone. The photos are not great quality, but they convey the message and I wanted to preserve the memory.
I cut some strips from 2 of the papers I thought would accentuate my photos. I placed them onto Lady Pattern Paper smooth white cardstock (included in the Sun O’Clock paper pack). I then proceeded to create my shell elements using the stencil, embossing paste, various colours of embossing powder melted with my heat tool and added some mist afterwards. I did all this on Lady Pattern Paper Kraft Cardstock. Kraft is awesome for these techniques as it can handle the heat as well as the water…up to a point, of course! When the elements were completely dry, I fussy cut them all and arranged them on my layout. Sand, stones and glitter were added as well as some Sparkle Paints to just highlight these gorgeous elements some more! The shell stencil is an absolute winner – the designs are detailed yet bold, so it is easy to use ♥
I finished the layout off with a quote from the collection here and there as well as a title from one of the chipboard elements.
