Oh, sparkly things… What is NOT to love? When I heard that Lady Pattern Paper was releasing a textures Collection with a “sparkle” I was super excited! The collection is simply gorgeous and can be used by itself or combined with a huge variety of patterned papers. Celebrations of course, always require a little sparkle.
This photo had been under my mat on my desk for almost 18 months. I was going to use it for an Event layout in 2018 but decided against using such a large photo. Just last week I looked at it and decided that it needed to find a home! Great was my surprise when the new Sparkly collection was PERFECT – it just came together so easily!
I punched a bunch of hexagons from all the different papers (you can, of course, use a template/stencil/cutting die too!). For fun, I decided to create some custom hexagons by cutting off all the barcode strips and glueing them next to each other, then punching a hexagon! I love that look!
The fireworks stencil is fabulous! I used it in two ways – first I spread some coloured paste through it onto a piece of white cardstock. When the paste was dry, I misted over it with a Gold Mist. When completely dry, I punched some more hexagons and raised them between the others.
I also used the stencil directly onto the background – mixed different colours of glitter with Gloss CLEAR DRYING Texture Paste and spread it through the stencil. The look is great when it is dry – picks up all the colours of the paper!
The chipboard elements were inked with Tsukineko Inks and some flowers were added for fun. A quote from the cut-out sheet was die cut using an oval scalloped die and some glitter was added around the edges for detail!
