With the month of August celebrating women I thought it apt to create a scrapbook layout using some recent photos celebrating some gorgeous women in my life. New and old friends made when we come together making memories and creating beautiful works of art.
I had this gorgeous range of papers sitting on my desk – I only bought 3 papers from the whole range that I really loved. But when I got home and matched it up with my Egyptian Gold Lady Pattern Paper I was beyond excited. The colour was a perfect match and that is how this layout came to be.
I also created some fun elements using my Egyptian Gold papers.
Die cut a heart using the sweetheart paper and a heart shaped die.
Run the die-cut through your Xyron machine to add adhesive to the back.
Use your bone folder and burnish the die-cut. This will ensure that the adhesive in the open spaces stick to the backing paper.
Adhere the die-cut to your project and then sprinkle it with gold glitter. The glitter will adhere to the adhesive that is visible – which is minimal but leaves a beautiful effect.
I even used a scrap strip from a previous project that I punched 5mm circles from to create a shaker box. I simply cut the strip shorter and adhered it to my layout. Add some diamante and embellishments inside some of the punched holes for a fun look.
I love how versatile the barcode strips are on the Lady Pattern Paper range. Here I combined it with another barcode strips and layered them on top of each other. The different shades of gold of the paper and embellishments used create interest and look simply fabulous against the bright oink background.
