When I received the new Lady Pattern Paper Travel Buddies collection, I immediately knew which “travel story” I wanted to tell. The designs are super cute and whimsical, which was just perfect for the trip to Kwa-Zulu Natal Priscilla and I took in May 2018.
I printed the photos in black and white – then made them slightly “warmer” to match the tone of the paper. I rounded the corners of my photos and then sanded the edges really well. This gives the illusion that they are matted on white cardstock.
I used Lady Pattern Paper white cardstock as a base for my layout. I first fussy cut all the elements from the papers that I thought would be suitable for my project.
Once done, I cut some strips from various patterns and placed them onto the background. I raised the elements using foam tape. The flowers I used were just PERFECT for this layout!
The stencil in the pack has a great sentiment – I used Little Birdie Sparkle Paste with a spatula. When it was dry, I misted it with Kaisercraft Gold Mist. The ‘road tripping’ chipboard was also painted with the same mist.
Journaling was added at the bottom of the page using a good quality black gel pen.
