Today I am sharing a layout with some of my paper scraps. Yes, I love scraps and I always try and use everything and anything from what I love. I even incorporate the barcode strips, including the barcode itself and the names – these speak so much to me and form part of the wonderful stories we tell.
I combined paper strips from the Basic Essentials, Black and White paper range with a music-themed layout. I wanted to document the huge part that music plays in our lives and how tangible it really is in our everyday lives.
I added some embossed details to the layout using an embossing folder.
Then ink the top of the embossing folder using a dark brown ink. Insert a piece of Lady Pattern Paper inside the embossing folder and then emboss it. The ink transfers onto the paper as well as the embossed pattern leaving a beautiful effect especially on the black and white. I cut out some of the embossed circles and added them to my layout as embellishments.
I used a piece of the Sweetheart paper from the hello CARDS – Basic Essentials V1 embossed underneath the 3×4” card on the left-hand side of the layout.
The barcode from my paper finds a home in between my paper strips – subtle but adding loads of interest in the finest of details.
The black and white script and text strips work really well with a hint of colour.
I love the ‘stop the press’ barcode strip that makes for a fitting sentiment on any project.
More embossed circles find a home in between stencilled circles and adding loads of interest.
