Whenever I make a scrapbooking layout, I try and make a card at the same time. Sometimes I make a few cards using the left overs and scraps from the layout, the same techniques and elements – simply because everything is out on my desk anyways. Double the fun and double the creativity.
So today I am sharing both the layout and card I made
I used this beautiful dandelion die-cut to add some pretty blooms onto my layout. I cut them both out of Lady Pattern Paper as well as plain white cardstock that I coloured.
Die-cut the dandelion out of Lady Pattern Paper and white technique cardstock.
Paint two of the dandelion die cuts using water colour paint. I used colours to match the colours on my layout.
For my card I used the negative of the die-cut and backed it with some Pink Mary Lady Pattern Paper papers, then adhered it onto white cardstock. I added some water colour paint splats to the layered die cut element.
A simple sticker finishes off my card.
Create the background of your layout by combining a strip of Pink Mary paper and Antique White paper together. Add a photo trimmed down freehand and matted onto black cardstock. Cut decorative circles out of patterned paper and scatter them across the layout. Add ink splats using the watercolour paint as before on the cards.
Adhere the die-cut dandelions grouped and layered together on your layout. Add some glitter glue to the die-cuts and then staple them to the background of your layout as a finishing touch.
Add Lady Pattern Paper Oh my word! stickers to your layout. Add diamanté, stamped imaged and paint splats to the background to tie everything together.
What better way to be creative than to do a double take on something you are already working on. Combine your Lady Pattern Paper with some bold splashes of colour and paint for a fun and modern twist in traditionally romantic colour.
