It’s celebration time with Lady Pattern Paper – literally! And it just shows you once again how you can combine basic pattern papers together to create a fun and vibrant layout – no need to reach for anything else but basics to compliment your gorgeous photos (unless you want to)!
For this layout I combined some of the newer Basic Essentials V2 designs with some of the original designs and colours and love the outcome so much. I started off with a neutral base behind my photos in Onyx Black and So Buff and then layered the colours on top of the base creating my pops of colours. I used the colours in the photos to pick my patterned paper colours complimenting them perfectly…
For my decorative elements I used the Lady Pattern Paper to die-cut some elements like the flags, stamped some smaller flags on and cut them out combined them with chipboard elements for a fun festive vibe.
To create a longer title I die-cut the word ‘this’ and then combined a chipboard number and printed word strip to form the title ‘this one recorded’. It’s so easy to create fun titles by combining die-cut words and other elements from your stash.
Also notice how I pulled all the colours through the layout by using the Pink Mary stripe repetitively, the Intense Teal in the strip down the middle and again in the flags and title. The Green Chartreuse in the flags and star strip picks up on the green grass in the photos and gives it a lovely accent. The small stamped flags on the banner were stamped on the Red Pop Damask in black ink highlighting and picking up the cake icing.
All in all this is such a fun and colourful layout using the very basics of scrapbooking and memory keeping – using only a few patterned papers and colours. After all the focus is on the photos and the memory keeping and not about all the stuff we can add to distract from what is really important.
So it just goes to show – basic is best when it comes to less is more!
