When a patterned paper inspires a project it can only be something really beautiful. As was the case with this layout – I was inspired by the Metallic Silver Lady Pattern Paper to create a fun and playful layout for this beautiful photo taken in Zanzibar.
The Kraft background of the paper and the silver details mimics the designs of the beautiful fabric on the photo. All I needed to do was add some special elements, a few colourful details and I had a beautiful layout.
The silver design of the paper inspired a few larger than normal sewn stitches over a barcode strip. This added beautiful texture and additional patterns to the paper panel.
Silver rub-ons worked perfectly alongside the silver in the paper and adds a beautiful shine when the light catches it just right. Blue paint splats was inspired by the blue in the photo and repeated in the blue flowers scattered across the layout.
Tags, stickers, gold arrows, buttons and diamanté add texture and colour to this layout.
A beautiful raggedy angel mimics the girls on the photos, and the pink flower on her dress was replaced with blue flowers for added dimension. By adding the blue flowers to the dress it also pulls the eye across the page and repeats the accent colour.
Layering and repetition is key to this layout, making use of colour and texture to bring this simple layout to life.
