How to make rolled paper beads

In a few easy steps I am able to use all my beautiful paper scraps after making a layout or card. One of my favourite things is to roll paper strips, based on quilling to achieve fun effects. This time I made a fun a fabulous card using my left-over paper strips rolled into fun beads and combined with beautiful flowers and velvet leaves on a colourful background.

Step 1

Cut several paper strips from your patterned papers. I cut mine different widths to achieve slight variations in the height of my beads.

Step 2

Use a quilling tool to roll the strips into beads and adhere the end of the paper strip to the rolled portion using a small drop of liquid adhesive.

I love how the patterned papers add a subtle effect and colour to this card design. The designs on the paper peak through and add lots of interest showcasing an unusual side of the paper.

Rolled paper beads are easy and fun to make with loads of possibility for using all those beautiful scrap paper pieces.
