I adore the whimsical patterned papers of the Travel Buddies collection. There are just so many possibilities for scrapbook pages. We love camping and I was immediately drawn to the Travel Buddies ‘Gypsy Life’ paper.
I decided to scrap some photos that were taken during our camping in Plettenberg Bay in December last year. I cut an 8 x 12-inch strip from this paper. I added a narrow strip of Travel Buddies ‘Cable Car’ and then chose to mat my large photo on an older Basically Textured ‘Macho Camo’ Chocolate Chilly paper. I also punched a border strip from the Chocolate Chilly paper to add next to the Cable Car paper.
I then die cut two circles from the Gypsy Life paper (clouds side) and stitched around the circles. I adhered the strips to white card stock and added stitching along the edge of the Gypsy Life paper. I matted my smaller photo with the Cable Car (aqua and pink blocks on the B side). I then fussy cut the banner from the Cable Car manufacturers strip and added it to the tops of my photos. I used a vacation stamp set and stamped a few sentiments on a pink scrap of paper and a scrap from the Travel Buddies ‘Fly’ paper. I fussy cut the stamped elements and added them to my page.
The Holy Chip! – Lost Chipboard title was coloured with Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs), the Caravan (also from the Holy Chip! – Lost Chipboard) was coloured with Distress Ink (Barn Door). I completed the look by fussy cutting four little birds from the cut apart sheet and adding them to the embellishment clusters. The last touches were added with the journaling and a few enamel dots.
