My design is relatively simple and allows the paper to take centre stage. I used the lovely ombre Basic Essentials – Mermaid Tails – Intense Teal because I found that it calmed down the other two busier papers and was the perfect setting to place my title and embellishments. I pierced holes around the entire paper so that I can do hand stitching for added texture.
The two photographs were printed with a white border and then matted on the hello CARDS paper (which I cut into 6×6 blocks to use for matting and layering) Intense Teal dots.
I wanted to add an additional colour that would be neutral and decided on the Basic Essentials – Moroccan Trellis – So Buff. I used the tiny dots side and cut a doily to layer behind the one photo. I also punched a scalloped border and added it below the Intense Teal, Mermaid Tails.
I love how my title and chipboard elements perfectly picks up on the So Buff colour. I added some matt gel medium below the little “to the beach” signpost and added some tiny art stones to mimic sand and also pick up on the So Buff paper.
This layout tells a story of exploration and good times at the beach. I am thrilled with the end result.
