The other day I was driving and as I normally do most of my thinking and planning it dawned on me…the fact that I am so not ready for Christmas and the year end, but also that for once I have the absolute perfect patterned paper for the festive season. Lady Pattern Paper in red and green and especially the new star designs are just perfect. And so is how my little Christmas boxes came to fruition.
This is such a simple little folded box using a single sheet of patterned paper cut to 11 x 8.5 inches. Then a few folds later, a drop or two of adhesive and a couple of embellishments later and there you have an awesome little gift box.
Cut you Lady Pattern Paper to measure 11×8.5”
Score the lines as per the instructions on the PDF document (download the instructions here).
On the long edge score at the following intervals: 1/2 inch, 4 ½ Inch, 6 inch and 10 ½ inch.
Then on the short side score at the following intervals: 2 inch and 6 ½ inch.
Score the diagonals lines in the middle.
Make sure that you fold and burnish the scored lines well with your bone folder.
Add your adhesive inside the lines as indicated only.
Fold over the sticky parts towards the middle and flatten. Leave to settle for a few minutes. Repeat on both sides.
Tweak the scored lines so that the centre forms your box portion.
Fold over the ½ inch top edge on both sides and decorate your box using the barcode strips of the Lady Pattern Paper, punched edges, ribbon and embellishments.
