Every now and again the wild side of creativity takes hold and I find myself drawn to neon colours bright and bold – but only so often. And so it was on this occasion that I had some left-overs on my desk with some really bright and bold and colours, a newly acquired bright pink embossing powder and some printed photos…well what else to do than create and use all those beautiful stash.
What inspired me was to combine all of those gorgeous colours with the classic feel and Basic Essentials Egyptian Gold paper from Lady Pattern Paper.
I love how this layout turned out – simple, classic but with a touch of oh-my-gosh added.
The barcode strip in gold hearts was perfect as a side border to balance the gold chevron paper strip on the left hand side of my layout. Repetition after all is a good design principle.
Over the gold chevron I added a layer of green paint using a credit card to smooth out the paint and give me a nice thin application.
The pink inked stars make for a nice statement against the green painted background and also looks great with the slightly vintage feel of the 7gypsies patterned paper.
Red, pink and yellow paint splats combined make for a stunning effect but also pulls the colour combination together.
The pink embossed chipboard title looks great and completes my visual triangle by picking up the lighter shades of pink in my stars.
