I generally don’t like making mini albums. For me personally they are time consuming dust gatherers, I really can’t help feeling that way. I do however like making them once in a blue moon. This little mini album is for my nephew who lost his puppy recently, and I wanted to make a little keepsake for me to remember Buck by. The Lady Pattern Paper papers in Chocolate Chilli were the perfect choice for this project.
Gather your papers and cut them in half. Remember to trim the barcode strips off and keep them to use inside your mini album as well.
Use a bone folder and fold the 6×12” papers in half to form square 6×6” pages.
Open up the pages, clip them together using a peg and then sew them together in the middle. I used my sewing machine to sew down the middle.
The stitching makes for a nice strong hold and is really quick and easy.
I used this piece of paper so that when it is folded it forms a natural title page for the cover.
Decorate the inside of the mini album using the barcode strips, embellishments, buttons and themed elements.
Words die-cut on the Silhouette works well with the barcode strips and photos – Simple reminders of a special bond between a boy and his puppy.
The cover is dressed simply with a title BCK for BUCK minus the U as I ran out and I embossed and inked feather. To remind him that whenever a feather naturally passes his way that Little Buck is watching over him.
