There is something to be said for a simplistic black and white theme, and when combined onto a card it is really very effective. But to throw something different in the works I created simple black and white cards with a vintage twist added. Just for fun!

The basic cards started off using a selection of Black Lady Patterned papers. And throw in a beautiful flower stamp and you have a theme going.

Step 1

Emboss a flower stamp onto 3 different designs of black Lady Pattern Paper papers. Stamp the image in VersaMark ink and sprinkle liberally with white embossing powder. Shake off the excess and brush the area clean using a small paint brush.

Step 2

Combine the embossed background image with some old book paper and quote stickers in a vintage design.

Step 3

Add some Walnut ink crystal splats onto the entire card to create some interest.

Step 4

My embossed image was punched into a large circle and layered onto a black background for a stunning and classy effect.

Finish off your cards with a few sewn on antique buttons, pearls and machine sewn edges. And there you have a set of beautifully simplistic cards in Onyx Black and vintage shades.
