The photos I used on this page were taken on a rather chilly day at the beach back in October…You can create this page using real summer photos and then you won’t need the word ALMOST!
I like to prepare all my elements for the page before I start constructing the actual page, it’s how I roll… Here is how I did it!
First cut up the Good Times & Tan Lines – Beach Vibes sheet into its blocks.
Then cut out the top YAY into individual letters, leaving the rest of the two YAYs intact and square off the top of the YAYs to use on the page.
Next cut out the centres of the leaf border and the notes borders.
Using skinny foam tape and some clear packaging off-cuts, create the shaker box with the beads using the leaf frame and the ‘sunny days’ block.
Cut out the individual letters from the block Beach Vibes and the little slice of watermelon and jar.
Using the back of the I heart summer block, die cut (I used Tim’s Chip Block die) the letters ALMOST from the dark strip and hand cut the insert V.
Ink the top of the Life is Sweeter in Flops block with Worn lipstick Distress Oxide. This was adhered with foam tape.
Using the info strip from One in a Melon chop it up into the 4-word strips.
Now cut your Copacabana sheet into drink strips. 2x pink drinks and 2x green drinks.
Chop 3 of the pink drinks off the bottom of one strip and then fussy cut one of the drinks out. Leave the other two on their blocks. I just eyeballed the middle between the drinks.
Cut the second strip of green drinks into 6 blocks. Use foam tape to raise these up.
The bunting and mason jar die cuts were in my stash… lucky me! You could hand cut both if you google the images, they are relatively simple to create… Improvise if you don’t have those dies!
Now ink everything you have cut with Mermaid Lagoon on the edges.
I matted my 3 photos on MINT green cardstock which was the same cardstock that I used for the date stamp below…
I used the date stamp I purchased at Typo a million years ago to create the circle and cut it out, inked the edges with Mermaid Lagoon and punched a circle which I inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide. And pop dotted both the circle and the jar cut from the strip of pink drinks.
I pop dotted the drink and watermelon slice onto the mason jar. This was the only thing on the page which I did not ink!
To create the base of the page I chopped the One in a Melon and Soft Serve horizontally and glued them to the new white Lady Pattern Paper cardstock to create a solid base.
I inked the top of the Soft Serve page with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and then down the right-hand side of the right-hand page.
I cut a strip off the right-hand side of the paper called Little Bikini, just before the slip slops start.
Now you have created all your elements, you can construct your page according to the photograph.
Once it was all glued in place I added the bling in green and turquoise.
